Chapter 1

Piggy is the reject of the group. Nobody listens to him or respects him. Even when he has the conch shell, which signifies who ever is holding it to have the right to speak, no one cares to listen to what he has to say. The sad thing about this is that Piggy is the "brains" of the clan. Their survival chance might be considerably higher if people just listen to his thoughts and ideas. Piggy is also the only one that notices that one of the little boys, the one with the huge birthmark on the side of his face, has disappeared. This little boy was also the same one who said that he saw a snake - beast. Everyone seems to forget or ignore the fact that he is missing after his disappearance was announced though. If I were part of that group, I would definitely vote Piggy to be chief. He is not the leader type material, but he definitely has to "brains" for it. Piggy would have made us make shelters first, instead of making a huge bonfire. Surviving is more important than making smoke signals for rescuers because there may not be any rescuers near the island, so you might just be wasting your time.
